God Calling – Gigi Murfitt https://gigimurfitt.com Writer. Speaker. Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:10

God is Love. If you want to give someone God then give them your love. God will take over from there.
I have to admit there are some people in my life who are difficult to love. But God asks me to love them anyway. He wants me to show them I care.
What if God put it in someone’s heart to come to me for help and I do not show them love? That would break God’s heart.
If everyone had love in their heart then there would be no dark days.
The joy of knowing God and being His love to others brings light to a dark situation.
Be the light that brightens someone’s dark day today. Show them your love.
God Bless Your Heart,
Gigi

Quiet Strength https://gigimurfitt.com/quiet-strength/ Sat, 17 Sep 2011 00:19:31 +0000 http://gigimurfitt.com/?p=892

The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14

Are you stressed out? Worried sick? Worn out? Just plain tired?
I feel that way during seasons of change. It takes me awhile to adjust.
But then I remember to rest in assurance that God will give me rest when the world wants to hand me turmoil.

With rest comes peace.
With peace comes joy.
My worry for the future is given over to the peace giver.
Then His power flows through me and the peace flows like a river.
The Bible tells me in Isaiah 30:15 that “In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength.”
Quiet confidence works for me.
How about you?
Today I’m praying that your weary soul will find rest. In Him.
God Bless Your Heart,
Gigi

When Faith Fails https://gigimurfitt.com/when-faith-fails/ Tue, 13 Sep 2011 14:54:25 +0000 http://gigimurfitt.com/?p=865

So watch your step, friends. Make sure there’s no evil unbelief lying around that will trip you up and throw you off course, diverting you from the living God. Hebrews 3:12 (The Message)
No sooner were the words out of his mouth than the father cried, “Then I believe. Help me with my doubts!” Mark 9:24 (The Message)

Believing can sometimes be difficult when the circumstances of our lives are far from what we expected.
We want to have faith for something different but the scene is playing unfamiliar and uncomfortable.
So what does God ask of us in this situation?

    • To trust.
    • To believe anyway.
    • To look beyond our circumstance and see His power.
    • To believe He is our Helper and our Savior.
    • To trust Him as Lord over every single one of our challenges.

Ask Him like the father did in Mark 9:24. “Hey God, I’m having my doubts. Can you please help me in my unbelief? I want to believe but I’m struggling right now.”
He hears your cry for help in your unbelief. His power will help you believe more and more.
Just ask and trust He’s working on it.
Absolute trust.
Can you do it? I think you can and I’m praying for you now.
God bless your heart that cries out to God for strength and power. Just ask Him.

A Generous Giver https://gigimurfitt.com/a-generous-giver/ Sat, 10 Sep 2011 18:15:46 +0000 http://gigimurfitt.com/?p=824 Good morning friend!
I hope you feel God’s love for you today. He is a generous giver of love.
I am reposting some of my blogs from the season of my life where I journaled through the God Calling Devotional by AJ Russell.
It was such a sweet season and as I re-read my journal, the message touches my heart again. God’s word is like that! It is alive!
I’ve been busy finishing the manuscript for my son Gabe’s book – My Message is C.L.E.A.R. – Hope and Strength in the Face of Life’s Greatest Adversities – so I haven’t been blogging as much lately.
It has been an amazing journey writing the book with Gabe. I can’t wait for you to read it.
But now I am back at blogging again!
Today I share my thoughts on being a Generous Giver.

Day 252 A Generous Giver

For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. John 6:33
Gifts: Life, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control.

Could you use some of these gifts?
We receive them from the most generous gift-giver of all – Jesus.
They are available to us when we stay grafted to the Vine.
He came that we might live life abundantly.
Staying connected is the key.
Are you living an abundant life filled with joy and peace?
Good for you. That makes me smile.
If not, then tap into the source of abundant life by connecting with Jesus through the Bible, prayer and hanging out with other like-minded people. It’s the best gift ever.
We can’t make ourselves loving and kind. At least not long term. We need to plug into the love of Christ which flows through us and out to those we love.
Plug in my friend. There is an abundant source of life and love waiting to touch your heart. It is real. It is good. It makes life worth living.
God Bless your heart with the generous gift of joy and peace.

Love of the Master https://gigimurfitt.com/love-of-the-master/ Mon, 16 May 2011 04:52:43 +0000 http://gigimurfitt.com/?p=645
God loves you.
He delights in your desires as much as He delights in your obedience.
Pray and Obey. This is what brings us closer to the Lord.
Friend to friend is the way we dare approach God.
Jesus came as the world’s greatest lover.
You have grace from the Holy Spirit to help you live like and to love as He did.
A lover understands our motives and our aspirations.
I have aspirations that are not understood by everyone in my sphere of influence.
I’ve learned I can’t expect others to understand but I know God understands the desires of my heart.
Some of what is on my heart is a foreign language to others.
I’ve learned not to judge those who don’t understand me.
God, the lover of my soul, understands.
Why not tell him your dreams?
God bless your heart with love of the Master.

Three-fold Cord https://gigimurfitt.com/three-fold-cord/ Wed, 11 May 2011 23:33:55 +0000 http://gigimurfitt.com/?p=587 It’s nice to have someone to help me make decisions.
Agreeing with one another is not always easy.
When disagreements rise up, it can feel like storm clouds overhead.
I imagine you’ve been through some difficult storms.
I know God has led me and my husband Steve through several.
It seems in the various seasons of our life a different kind of storm blows through.
Our deep friendship and great desire to love each other and serve God has helped us weather these tough seasons.
There are few friendships in the world like ours.
Steve and I met on the ski slopes when we were in high school. I was a junior and he was a sophomore.
Our towns (I lived in Anaconda, MT and Steve in Philipsburg, MT) were thirty miles apart with the Discovery Basin Ski Resort tucked in between.
In our younger years, we skied together almost every weekend.
I have a box of letters we wrote to each other through the years as our friendship developed.
We ended up at the same college (Go GRIZ!) and Steve let me cry on his shoulder many times as I tried to find my way in relationships.
He was my BFF. (Best Friend Forever)
We went our separate ways after college but we kept in touch with letters and phone calls.
I moved to Dallas, TX to start over after a very difficult storm shook my foundation.
About six months later Steve was hired for a company in Las Colinas, TX and moved only a mile from my apartment.
We had a blast together exploring the big city and our friendship blossomed to love.
We were married a year later and now we have two wonderful sons and a daughter-in law.
We celebrate our twenty-sixth wedding anniversary this summer.
There is great power when two people together on the same path use God as the guide.
But what has made us strong is that God is the Divine third person in our relationship.
It is with His power that it all works out for good. It isn’t always easy, but God is our shelter in the storm.

There is strength in numbers and a three-fold chord is not easily broken.
Through tough times, this cord holds us together.
I pray you will have a Divine third in your life. He brings strength to every relationship.
God bless your heart with strong friendships with God in the center.
Gigi

Again I say to you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 18:19

Only Love Lasts https://gigimurfitt.com/only-love-lasts/ Tue, 23 Nov 2010 05:39:47 +0000 http://gigimurfitt.com/?p=1124

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

So many times in Scripture the answer is LOVE. Because true LOVE from God’s heart lasts.

God is LOVE and only His work remains.
All fame fades eventually. All talk fades away.

The work that is not done with LOVE passes by without a thought.
But God-quality LOVE lasts.
Jesus is—TRUE LOVE
They will know WHO I love by HOW I love.
Unfortunately we don’t always get this right. Even in the church.
Some of the work we do isn’t even on God’s agenda. We do it to check it off our do-gooder list. But do we do it in TRUE LOVE?
How about a smile in a time of need? God’s LOVE.
How about a kind word to a hurting heart? God’s LOVE.
How about a helping hand to a neighbor in need? God’s LOVE.
How about acknowledging someone’s worth? God’s LOVE.
All acts of LOVE inspired by God’s LOVE are recognized as a welcome mats into eternity.
As we move through the furry and frenzy of this holiday season, I pray there is one goal in mnd.
To LOVE.
Is your welcome mat out?
God Bless your heart with the LOVE of God flowing through you to others.
Gigi

Ask in My Name https://gigimurfitt.com/ask-in-my-name/ Thu, 27 May 2010 05:16:44 +0000 http://gigimurfitt.com/?p=699

Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:24

What are you asking of God? Are you asking it in Jesus name?
I know thousands of us are asking God for a miracle healing for Cashy Michael Hyde who is in SLC Children’s Hospital for treatment of a brain tumor. This little guy isn’t even two years old yet. The fan page on Facebook is growing daily and the fervent prayers are written there by people who know him well and people who are only there because God put it on their heart to pray.
I ask, in Jesus name, for healing for Cashy and for peace for his entire family. I ask in Jesus name because it is the name above all names. It is the name that will be spoken when every knee bows and every tongue confesses that He is Lord. I ask in Jesus name because there is no name more powerful.

My prayer for you, my blog friend, is that you will pray in His powerful name for the issues in your life today.
I hope you will seek Him daily, moment by moment, for all of your needs. Not just when a crisis arises.
Don’t make him a vending machine God that you only come to when you have a dire need and you plug in a prayer or two and wait for whatever falls.
He created you for relationship. He loves you with an everlasting love. He knows the number of hairs on your head. All the days of your life were written by Him before one of them came to be. He tells us all of this in the Bible.
You were created to do a mighty work for the Kingdom of God right here and right now.
He doesn’t want you to sit on the sidelines and watch. He’s asking you to put on the full armor of God and get in the game.
As you seek Him for everything and pray without ceasing, soon you’ll experience His grace and there will be an outward manifestation of His Power in your life.
I weep for you today. I’m not sure why, but the tears flow as I pray and ask for God’s touch in your life. I give my tears to the one who collects them. I give them to the one who will one day wipe away every tear. I give them to Jesus.
I hope you will email me or post a comment if you need me to join you in prayer for anything going on in your life today.
God Bless your heart in Jesus mighty and powerful name.
