I Can Share My Hope With You

by Gigi May 3, 2011
written by Gigi

There isn’t much that I can do. But I can share my hopes with you. And I can share my life with you. And oftentimes share a prayer with you as on our way we go. Author unknown

Hope on the Horizon

When I read this quote on my 365 Days of HOPE calendar, it reminded me of the desire of my heart for my writing.
As I write, I pray for ways to share how God has given me hope in the midst of difficult trials of life.
My current work in progress is the completion of a book I’m writing with my son, Gabe.
My Message is C.L.E.A.R. – Hope and Strength in the Face of Life’s Greatest Adversities is the story of Gabe’s triumph over trials.
Every chapter tells of God’s goodness and kindness in the face of sometimes overwhelming circumstances.
But in the midst of the challenges, I have never lost hope.
So I will share my hopes with you as I share my life with you.
I will many times share a prayer with you as on our way we go.
Have a blessed day knowing that in all things we can find HOPE on the horizon.
God Bless Your Heart with HOPE.
Gigi
Please join me in prayer that I can carve out more time to finalize this project and continue with my book too.

You are a Royal Bride

by Gigi April 29, 2011
written by Gigi

I’m sentimental. I love weddings.
I didn’t get up in the wee hours of the morning to watch the royal wedding live, but I’ve been following it on the news today.
I cried. I have to admit. It was beautiful. I imagined being a princess myself.
Kate Middleton, the new Duchess of Cambridge was stunning.

Oh how I pray for her and William in our age of tabloids, twitter and web tv where their every move will be scrutinized. Oh Lord, be with them.
My favorite part of the wedding ceremony was the sermon by the Bishop of London. I’m going to read it over and again and it will probably produce a few posts on my blog. Much wisdom in that sermon for each of us.
What struck me most about this whole affair is that I know we desire to feel like a princess or prince.
Often our life circumstances cause blows to our self esteem and by the time we are young adults, that reality of a royal life seems so far off. We no longer see it as a possibility.
Events like this royal wedding allow us to dream.
But we must never forget that we ARE royalty. We are preparing for the Royal Wedding when Christ comes back for his precious Bride.
We, the people of God, are that precious Bride.
Oh please never forget how God looks at you as a Royal.
God calls you out of darkness and into His wonderful light.
The Bible reminds us in this Scripture:

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10 NKJV

God Bless your ROYAL Heart

Easter Basket Contents to Change Your Life

by Gigi April 22, 2011
written by Gigi

This morning I was reflecting about the season of Easter.

The beautiful lilies, daffodils, tulips, colorful eggs, patent leather shoes, and new dresses.

As one of ten children of a single mom, we purchased new outfits only a couple times a year.  Mom often received gifts of money to bless us during the Easter season which allowed us to go shopping for the perfect Easter attire.

I remember going to Sears to pick out my white gloves, a wide brimmed hat with a pink flower to match the pattern on my mint green dress, anklets and shiny white shoes. Sometimes Mom could even afford a new purse that matched my shoes. I always felt like a princess in my Easter garb.
God always provided. Sometimes in unusual ways.
Mr. Justini, our neighbor across the street, or my grandma’s landlord Mr. Knight, usually gave mom shiny silver dollars to put under the grass at the bottom of our Easter baskets.
It was a very special time. The Montana weather was unpredictable and sometimes we searched for eggs in the snow. It was actually easier to find the colorful eggs against the crisp white backdrop.
Can you imagine twenty eager hands trying to dye Easter eggs? Many people often said my mom had the patience of Job. If you were anywhere near our kitchen table during the egg dying extravaganza, you would understand why.
But for me Holy week and Easter has not always been about dying eggs, Easter baskets filled with candy and toys, or new clothes.
It has always had an incredible spiritual significance.
All that stuff of the Easter, pales in comparison to the gifts we receive from Jesus through His sacrifice on the cross and the gift of the Holy Spirit.
I’ve traded a few things from the Easter basket of old:
I exchanged my patent leather shoes for feet shod with the Gospel of Peace.
My new outfit is the Armor of God which includes the belt of truth and the shield of faith, the breastplate of righteousness.
Instead of the toys, my gift is life everlasting and the Holy Spirit who gives me love, joy, peace, patience kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control.
This is my prayer for you today. Receive the gift that God gave us and be filled with the many gifts the Holy Spirit offers us.
Your basket will be filled with gifts to get you through another day.
I’m praying for you this Easter week.
God Bless Your Heart with the Gifts of God’s Holy Spirit

I love the book of Galatians so I leave you with this Scripture to ponder in Chapter 5 verse 22:
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Bless Your Heart

God Bless Your Heart

I was thinking about you today.

And I hope you feel blessed.
I hope you know what a blessing you are to me.
So I’m passing along a beautiful blessing prayer a friend sent to me this week.
May you be blessed with the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation so you may know Him better.
May you be blessed with the eyes of heart being enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you.
May you be blessed with the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints and His incomparably great power.
May you be blessed with a release of the power of the Father in and through you which is like the working of His might strength which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms.
May you be blessed with the wisdom knowledge and revelation of the Father’s great love for you and made you alive in Christ and raised you up with Christ and seated you with Christ in the heavenly realms.
May you be blessed with doing good works.
May His power be released through you that will bring Him glory and bring healing to the broken hearted, abused and freedom to the captives.
May God Bless Your Heart!

Ask in My Name

by Gigi May 26, 2010
written by Gigi

Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:24

What are you asking of God? Are you asking it in Jesus name?
I know thousands of us are asking God for a miracle healing for Cashy Michael Hyde who is in SLC Children’s Hospital for treatment of a brain tumor. This little guy isn’t even two years old yet. The fan page on Facebook is growing daily and the fervent prayers are written there by people who know him well and people who are only there because God put it on their heart to pray.
I ask, in Jesus name, for healing for Cashy and for peace for his entire family. I ask in Jesus name because it is the name above all names. It is the name that will be spoken when every knee bows and every tongue confesses that He is Lord. I ask in Jesus name because there is no name more powerful.

My prayer for you, my blog friend, is that you will pray in His powerful name for the issues in your life today.
I hope you will seek Him daily, moment by moment, for all of your needs. Not just when a crisis arises.
Don’t make him a vending machine God that you only come to when you have a dire need and you plug in a prayer or two and wait for whatever falls.
He created you for relationship. He loves you with an everlasting love. He knows the number of hairs on your head. All the days of your life were written by Him before one of them came to be. He tells us all of this in the Bible.
You were created to do a mighty work for the Kingdom of God right here and right now.
He doesn’t want you to sit on the sidelines and watch. He’s asking you to put on the full armor of God and get in the game.
As you seek Him for everything and pray without ceasing, soon you’ll experience His grace and there will be an outward manifestation of His Power in your life.
I weep for you today. I’m not sure why, but the tears flow as I pray and ask for God’s touch in your life. I give my tears to the one who collects them. I give them to the one who will one day wipe away every tear. I give them to Jesus.
I hope you will email me or post a comment if you need me to join you in prayer for anything going on in your life today.
God Bless your heart in Jesus mighty and powerful name.

Perfect Love

by Gigi May 4, 2010
written by Gigi

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. 1 John 4:18

God has perfect love to give.
And it is free.
The creator of all wants to love me perfectly.
I delight in that love.
There is joy and peace in that love.
It is a love that is consistent – the same yesterday, today and forever.
With a word God spoke creation into being.
He has spoken love over me and will call out to the things I need in my life – peace, joy, forgiveness, provision.
He is in everything around me.
I rejoice and I share everything with Him.
Like the treasures my boys found on the beach and brought to me in their tiny hands. A gift of simple love to their mom.
So I take the treasures of my life and bring them to God as a gift.
God gave me my boys and now I give them back to Him as the treasures they have become.
And I get to share the joy with Jesus because after all, they are His kids in the first place.
They are simply His gift to me and I treasure the fact He shared them with me.
Bless you today.
I pray you will share everything with Him.
Your joys, your pains, your sadness, your grief, your excitement are all gifts to Him.
He looks your way today and says “Share it with Me.”
God Bless Your Heart

Mother of the Groom!

by Gigi March 15, 2009
written by Gigi

This weekend we celebrated with our future daughter-in-law Kelsey at her first bridal shower. It was so much fun to see her college and work friends. I was so blessed by “homies” from our home group and my sisters and nieces who joined in the celebration. We all had a great time.
I love being included in all of the bride’s activity. I only have two boys so I’ll never have a daughter to shop with for a wedding gown. But Kelsey graciously let me come with her and her mom while she tried on dresses. And boy did she find a beautiful gown. I promised I wouldn’t tell anyone what it looks like but I will tell you that she looks like a princess.
Boys don’t tell their moms much about the wedding. So I really appreciated Kelsey filling me in tonight at dinner on all the sweet little touches they will have during their ceremony. It’s going to be a glorious day. I cry just thinking about it. God is so good.
It’s hard for mom’s to let their sons go. At least it is for me. Zane is my first born son. He is a jewel. He used to crawl on my lap and snuggle. I loved to rub his back when I put him to bed. I’d sneak out of the room when I thought he was asleep. Just as I got to the door I’d hear his little voice. “Mommy, you aren’t done yet. One more time please.”
I miss that time. It seems like hundreds of years ago. In a couple weeks Zane will turn twenty-two. Oh how I’ve been blessed these twenty-two years. Incredibly blessed.
Zane is home for spring break. He has the flu. I don’t like him to be sick but I rather like taking care of him. When he asked me to get him more Advil and water the other morning, I stopped to think. This is likely the last time I get to take care of him when he is sick. Kelsey will do that for him when they marry. Another transition. A passing of my caregiver hat to someone else. So I’ve savored the weekend of pampering my first born.
Being mother of the groom is harder than I thought it would be. But the wonderful thing is that he is marrying a treasure. So I’m gaining a beautiful daughter instead of losing a son. I like the sound of that. God’s favor is definitely on this marriage. They have honored each other and honored God all through the years they have dated. To God be the Glory! I’m so proud.
